The Level 3 Diploma is for students that have experience and have completed the level 2 city and guilds dog grooming course.

 

The training will provide the practical skills required to professionally style dogs of all coat types and those who need adjustments to the grooming process due to their health conditions. The course also covers the knowledge to ensure that you are fully prepared to work as a professional dog groomer in line with legislation and welfare requirements.

 About the Course 

This course is for those who want to become a highly skilled Dog Grooming Assistant. The subjects you will be taught on this course include :-

​

  • Health & Safety

  • Legislation

  • Customer Service

  • Preparing, styling and finishing a dog groom

  • Health checks and recognising and handling health problems

  • Canine first aid

  • Common canine diseases and disorders

  • Correct handling techniques

The externally set practical assessments contain six tasks including styling dogs with different coat types and demonstrating canine first aid. Learners will also undertake a written exam, held in June and November each year. 

​

* Online home study is also required

Please note candidates must hold the Level 2 City & Guilds Certificate for Dog Grooming Assistants before starting the level 3 course.

Assessment: 

​

  • Written exam covering the knowledge and understanding within the qualification.

  • Six practical tasks, including four grooming assessments, canine first aid and health and safety.

Exam Dates:

  • EXAM – 14th June 2022,  - 9:30-11:30​

  • EXAM - 9th November 2022, -  9:30-11:30

Why choose a City and Guilds dog grooming course with us?

Our City and Guilds Dog Grooming courses are run by a City & Guilds qualified experienced groomer/tutor, with the necessary level 3 teaching qualification. Each course has a maximum of 2 students per day to ensure 100% attention and one to one support, due to this factor all courses are on a 'first come first served basis.' 

 

We are very flexible with our training, we can work around your commitments, offering one to five days per week, 10.00am - 5.30pm. This is a 25 day course which is the City & Guilds minimum requirement. Our courses are professional and well structured, we will provide you with full support, confidence and help you through the whole journey.

Our Level 3 course is run over 300 guided learning hours which is the minimum hours required by City and Guilds to gain the Level 3 qualification.  If you have had grooming experience we can also offer reduced learning hours training to gain the qualification, please email theposhpaw@yahoo.com for more information.

 

You are required to have all of your equipment before you start.  We can provide you with the full kit at a reduced rate should you wish to purchase this from us.

To book a space on this course please email us at theposhpaw@yahoo.com to agree the course dates, once dates have been agreed a booking form will be emailed to you, complete the booking form and send back to us with the appropriate payment, upon booking we require a 25% deposit with the full amount to be paid two weeks prior to the start of the course. We work on a first come first served basis so your dates will only be secure once the 25% deposit clears in our account. Once payment has been received a confirmation and placement offer will be sent by return.
