All of our dog grooming stylists are fully insured, trained to the highest standard
and are City and Guilds Qualified.
Jane the owner and head stylist has been a dog groomer for over 16 years, holds a Level 3 City & Guilds qualification and has a wealth of experience and expertise within the dog grooming industry.
She has also been teaching dog grooming for over 6 years and holds a teaching qualification.
Professional Dog Grooming Services
When you arrive at The Posh Paw we will undertake a thorough consultation with you, during which we will discuss your preferred style for your dog, based on their coat type and body proportions as well as their lifestyle. We consider each dog as a whole including any medical, psychological or behavioural issues that they may be experiencing.
Before we start the grooming process your dog will be given some time to become accustomed to the surroundings and also bond with the groomer. It is essential for your dog to feel relaxed and comfortable with the environment and groomer before we begin the groom.
We carry out a comprehensive health check with each dog to check for anything which may affect how we carry out the grooming process, for example any sores, mats or sensitive areas.
The entire groom is carried out at a pace suited to each dog and life stage, the grooming process can be a tiring one for the dog so breaks are given when needed.
We use a gentle, patient and kind approach to reassure nervous dogs, calm the more energetic dogs and encourage the older or quieter dogs

The Mini Makeover
We offer a bath and brush service for breeds that are prone to matting and can be more challenging for owners to maintain in between grooms. (in line with breed grooming schedule)

Face, Feet and Hygiene / sanitary Trim

Hand Stripping
Hand stripping involves removing the dead coat by hand on wire coated breeds. This process helps to keep the natural wire texture and colour.

This service includes 2 visits, the first for the hand strip, nail trim and ear clean then 4-5 days later for the complimentary bath.

Puppy Sessions
We provide shorter sessions for puppies as it is very important that we don't rush this session or do anything which may cause a negative experience as this is a critical time in creating positive associations with dog grooming.
​
We recommend a number of these shorter sessions with the aim of building up towards the full grooming process. We can also provide advice on how to care for your dog's coat in between grooms.

We are now an accredited dog grooming training academy.

We will be offering DISCOUNTED full grooms where you can put your dog forward as a dog model, these grooms will be carried out by a student who will be fully supervised.
